I must protest.
1) No (true-blue) Australian has every uttered the words 'duct taping', because Aussies (and Pommies) know that the universe is held together with gaffer tape, not duct tape. See http://www.exposure.co.uk/eejit/gaffer/
b) If an Australian were ever induced to utter the words 'duct typing', the typical Strine (see http://www.geocities.com/jendi2_2000/strine1.html ) pronunciation would be more like 'duh toypn' - the underlying principle being one of elimination of all unnecessary syllables, vowels and consonants, thus eliminating the need to move the lips (which reduces effort and stops flies getting in).
