Barry Warsaw has kindly added a "peps" topic to the python-checkins mailing list. If you want to be notified only when PEP's get updated, then subscribe to python-checkins and edit your settings to select just the 'peps' topic.
How does one get to editing one's settings?
Go to the bottom of the page
http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/python-checkins
under "Python-checkins Subscribers", fill in your email address and click "Unsubscribe or edit options". Fill in the "password" field on the next page and click "Log in". The topic option should be near the bottom of the page.
