Not everyone is willing and able to switch to a
new 2.j release as soon as it appears.
The reason I jumped on 2.4 right away was the msi installer for Windows systems. We can do unattended/automated installs... it's really great... a killer feature for Windows users who need to install Python on lots of machines.
