A simple implementation could be something like:
@register_literal_prefix("sql")
class SqlLiteral(str): pass
class Connection:
...
def execute(self, stmt):
if isinstance(stmt, SqlLiteral):
# proceed as usual
...
else:
throw TypeError("Expected sql'' string")
