New submission from Georg Brandl <ge...@python.org>: access(2) can return errnos that correspond to input errors or general system faults, such as EINVAL, EIO or ENOMEM. In this case, an exception should be raised instead of returning False.
It is probably best to whitelist those errnos that indicate missing access -- it needs to be discussed whether that is just EACCES, or also e.g. ENOENT. ---------- components: Library (Lib) messages: 124500 nosy: georg.brandl priority: normal severity: normal stage: needs patch status: open title: posix_access swallows all errors type: behavior versions: Python 2.7, Python 3.1, Python 3.2 _______________________________________ Python tracker <rep...@bugs.python.org> <http://bugs.python.org/issue10758> _______________________________________ _______________________________________________ Python-bugs-list mailing list Unsubscribe: http://mail.python.org/mailman/options/python-bugs-list/archive%40mail-archive.com
