Bill Janssen <bill.jans...@gmail.com> added the comment: So, I subclassed msilib.CAB, and re-wrote commit() so that the CAB file is created in a different process, a la Tools/msi/msilib.py. Still have the same problem, though. So now I'm thinking it's not a memory problem, but I'm wondering if there's something about the length of the path names in the CAB file, or some such.
