Brian Curtin <cur...@acm.org> added the comment: On Windows, the WindowsDefault class gets used and it doesn't make use of anything other than the URL (no 'new' or 'autoraise'). All it does is pass the URL onto os.startfile.
It should make a better attempt at running the URL.
