Ned Deily <n...@acm.org> added the comment: I'm guessing this falls into the same category as Issue8102, that is, since the python tests are also installed and run on end-user systems by various installers, it is important that none of the tests depend on files from a python build directory or source tree. In other words, if a test needs a file, that file needs to be explicitly installed.
