Since you've done this:
#ifndef MS_WINDOWS
/* mode = ..*/
#endif
but on Windows the compiler "jumps" over this code, so you can get a
binding error, since it doesn't find the variable "mode"...
E.g (on my Debian):
#ifndef __GNUC__
#define X 10
#endif
int main()
{
printf("%d\n", X);
}
it gives error: ‘X’ undeclared (first use in this function)
