After some consideration I also agree with Antoine. The Py_buffer API has been around for a long time without any changes to the Py_buffer struct. It is unlikely that the struct will ever change. I have created a new PR that exposes Py_buffer struct, PyBuffer_*() API functions, PyBUF_* constants, Py_bf_* type slots, and PyMemoryView_FromBuffer().
