I don't think this is resolvable without either being fixed by WiX Toolset or us completely rewriting the installer. And they've already shown very little interest in fixing this. That said, WiX Toolset was eventually funded to fix the MSI hijacking issue that they initially dismissed, so it could happen. What I'd *love* to see happen is some other group take up the responsibility for user-friendly Python distributions.
