I tried impersonating the token of Explorer in the current thread (i.e. GetShellWindow, GetWindowThreadProcessId, OpenProcess, OpenProcessToken, ImpersonateLoggedOnUser), but writing to AppData was still redirected. Apparently redirection for apps only looks at the process token.
