About _strptime, I see that the time.strptime() imports internally the _strptime module. If we move _strptime inside datetime: does it mean that calling time.strptime() would have to import the datetime module? It doesn't sound right to me. I see the time as the low-level interface: it should not rely on the high-level interface.
