Go ahead with the update, but it isn't really necessary. The PEPs are for getting something into the language in the first place and for centralizing a major discussion. They typically get out of date quickly after they've been implemented. In this case, we've got the tracker discussion to document the minor discussions than led to this minor change in the API.
