Oh wait, it is just unrelated :-) It's a typo in the StackOverflow answer: 
"import binhex; binascii.a2b_hex(...)". It should be "import binascii" 
obviously ;-) I didn't notice at the first read. binhex has no a2b_hex() 
function :-)
