However, looking at the standard - it looks like it may be "a bug". Not the easiest to read, but my understanding of this leans to calling opening a file using "/some/path/to/file/" is wrong: [ENOTDIR] A component of the path prefix names an existing file that is neither a directory nor a symbolic link to a directory; or O_CREAT and O_EXCL are not specified, the /path/ argument contains at least one non- <slash> character and ends with one or more trailing <slash> characters, and the last pathname component names an existing file that is neither a directory nor a symbolic link to a directory; or O_DIRECTORY was specified and the /path/ argument resolves to a non-directory file. from http://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/9699919799/functions/open.html > ---------- > nosy: +jkloth > > _______________________________________ > Python tracker <rep...@bugs.python.org> > <https://bugs.python.org/issue34711> > _______________________________________ > ---------- _______________________________________ Python tracker <rep...@bugs.python.org> <https://bugs.python.org/issue34711> _______________________________________ _______________________________________________ Python-bugs-list mailing list Unsubscribe: https://mail.python.org/mailman/options/python-bugs-list/archive%40mail-archive.com
