Martin Panter <vadmium...@gmail.com> added the comment: Sorry, I realize there is a problem remaining with the pointer types for "Noddy_name" (Noddy vs PyObject pointers), so you can't remove the cast there. But my suggestion should still apply to other places, for instance the "error_out" method in Doc/howto/cporting.rst.
