Martin Panter added the comment: Thanks for the explanation. It seems a bit strange that the server thread was running so slow while the main thread did one thousand polls over at least one second. Perhaps there is a blocking DNS call hidden somewhere in it somewhere? In any case, I am pretty confident my patch should help, so I will commit it unless there are any objections.
