Ned Deily added the comment: The crash is in libcrypto but Apple doesn't supply a libcrypto.1.0.0 with OS X 10.11, only 0.9.7 and 0.9.8. Check the rest of the crash log to see where you're picking it up from and make sure you have an up-to-date version. If you have a version from MacPorts or Homebrew, see the Developer's Guide for more information on how to configure a build to use libraries from them.
