Terry J. Reedy added the comment: The workaround function added in this issue is replaced in #24972 with the Text widget inactiveselectbackground option. In the course of testing, I discovered that while the function still works, debugger source highlighting no longer does, at least not on my machine. I opened new issue #25254. On the other hand, find seems to be working better.
