Antoine Pitrou added the comment: As for the dual 2.7/3.6 aspect: I don't really understand it. If this is committed to 2.7 it should also be committed to 3.5. It doesn't threaten the stability of the interpreter in any way, given it does not affect the default build path. There's no reason why packagers of Python 3.5 should have to separately maintain a patch to have access to this improvement.
