David Murray added the comment: I think I'll leave it up to whoever works on this whether they want to tackle making posix mode and non-posix mode return the same values or turn this into an enhancement ticket for the proposed wrapped_lineno. Or, if no one is interested, we can just close this. (Or, third option, turn it into a doc issue and document exactly what shlex actually does with lineno).
