Terry J. Reedy added the comment: Ned, I recently saw that some of the builtin extensions call macosxsupport. I though then that it would be better if such calls were somehow handled automatically. I have no idea how and when to make them and so I don't know if the existing calls are needed or if other calls should be added. So I like your idea. It seems like it should be a separate issue.
