R. David Murray added the comment: A google for quadruple got me wikipedia as the first hit, with this as the match text:
"Quadruple may refer to: A 4-tuple, ..." So, it's tech-speak. The alternative would be to say either "a 4-tuple" or "a tuple of four elements".
