Guido van Rossum added the comment: Marc-Andre: what do you mean by breaking lots and lots of extensions? Extensions also contain buffer overflow checks (at least I hope they do :-) and those should also be guaranteed safe by using -fwrapv or -fno-strict-overflow (GCC 4.2 and higher) until we're sure there aren't any.
