R. David Murray added the comment: Well, it does seem to me that there is something wrong here. Your fix may even be correct, but I'd hesitate to apply it without someone understanding why those lines were added in the first place. (I *think* they were added by Martin von Loewis, but I'm not 100% sure since the commit was part of a block of changes by different authors and I'm just guessing based on the comment on the commit.)
I'm reopening the issue.
