I never said that anyone of these volunteers is unresponsible/stupid/whatsoever. It was also never my intention to express myself in this way, so I apologize if you felt harmed in any way. I was just suprised that this issue exists for so long. And since I only recently started developing on Windows, I was a bit knocked over by the additional effort that was needed to get things working (for which I blame Windows, not Python!). I've been developing for some time now and I understand completely that it's far from trivial; given the complexity of the software and fragility of distutils. So kudos to the developers that put their hours into this! Anyway, I have a workaround using some distutils manipulations now (see my previous post), which works for now, and I'm looking forward to a permanent fix!
