R. David Murray added the comment: Thanks for the report, however WINE is not an environment we support. A quick google indicates people have occasionally succeeded in getting it to install and run (for some definition of run), but it sounds like you've read about those.
If you want to work out the problem, and if it proves to be an in issue in Python and not WINE, and if the patch to fix it isn't too complex, it will be considered.
