Alexis Metaireau <ale...@notmyidea.org> added the comment: Yep, packaging is not keeping the .egginfo directories, or at least does not plan to keep them (It should be the case currently but I haven't checked recently) in the upcoming release, so I would go on removing support for setuptools' develop command here :)
