Antoine Pitrou <pit...@free.fr> added the comment: I don't think "WARNING: this may corrupt your terminal" is warranted. Also, I think we can safely remove the --encoding option. Calling a module from the command-line is intended as a demonstration of the module's functionality, it's not an official API that we have to keep compatible.
