This code has been working for the last 8 years, including 2.7.1. It is failing now, under 2.7.2. OpenSSL version haven't changed since 2.7.1. So, it is something working under 2.7.1 that is not working under 2.7.2. If you get an error in 2.6, I guess this is somewhat dependent of the OpenSSL version or OS.
