My usual pattern (adopted from examples in the stdlib tests) is this:
TestSomethingBase:
tests
PyTestSomething(TestSomethingBase, TestCase):
stuff
CTestSomething(TestSomethingBase, TestCase):
stuff
Is there a reason that won't work in your case?
