Category: Build Group: Python 2.5 >Status: Closed >Resolution: Wont Fix Priority: 5 Submitted By: Mike Klaas (mklaas) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: enable-shared .dso location Initial Comment: When building on AMD64/FC5 with --enable-shared, libpython.so is placed in /usr/lib. Unfortunately, /usr/lib is not in the shared object search path by default--/usr/lib64 is used. I believe that this is a fairly standard linux configuration for 64bit machines. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Martin v. It would be possible to hard-code this into configure, but I'm unsure whether that would be the right thing to do. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Mike Klaas (mklaas) Date: 2006-10-15 00:36 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1611720 Point. It is probably unrealistic for the python build to figure this out automatically. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Martin v. Löwis (loewis) Date: 2006-10-14 22:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=21627 You should configure Python with --libdir=/usr/lib64, then, right? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=105470&aid=1576394&group_id=5470 _______________________________________________ Python-bugs-list mailing list Unsubscribe: http://mail.python.org/mailman/options/python-bugs-list/archive%40mail-archive.com
