Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Stephan Springer (tengai) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: platform.processor() could be smarter Initial Comment: As far as I can see, platform.py only looks at the output of "uname -p" when platform.processor() is called. But on my system (Debian Linux), this doesn't give a result. Could you please enhance this function in a way that it also looks at /proc/cpuinfo? I'd need this to automatically find the appropriate options like "-march=..." and "-msse" for gcc/g++ in an scons script. Thanks, - Stephan. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=355470&aid=1231081&group_id=5470 _______________________________________________ Python-bugs-list mailing list Unsubscribe: http://mail.python.org/mailman/options/python-bugs-list/archive%40mail-archive.com
