I think the problem might lie in that your keyboard layout doesn’t agree with
your locale settings — in which case, see if there’s a variant with num-dot
emitting a comma, or if there isn’t such, report it to the XKB people.
The problem is that I'm on Windows and what produces the numeric-dot key
depends on the application I'm using (for example in MS Excel it emits a
comma while in MS Word it emits a point). I have to simulate the same
behaviour as in MS Excel, but I don't know how to do it.
