Thanks for posting this.  This shows that the sphere_quality
difference is based upon objects:

# create two fragments
fab A, ala
translate [10, 0, 0]
fab Y, tyr

# show as sphers
as spheres

# change sphere_quality
set sphere_quality, 0, ala
set sphere_quality, 2, tyr

zoom
