Have you tried connecting the graphics card to the 3D vision emitter  
with a 3pin mini-DIN to 3.5mm stereo cable (as well as the USB)? The  
USB connector is only really meant for use with the GeForce cards, the  
stereo cable giving a 'better' connection (although you still need the  
USB connection for power).

In Europe, the necessary cable is only supplied in the professional 3D  
vision for Quadro kits, not with those originally sold. There is a  
wiring diagram for the cable on the nvidia forum if you don't have it  
(but the search function isn't working at the moment, so I can't give  
a link)
