Greetings,

PyMOL v1.3 has been released. Current subscribers can download
binaries for Windows, Mac and Linux from http://pymol.org/dsc/ip. The
v1.3 code is open-source revision 3909.

Warren said it best, so I'll quote him here, in magnificent Python triple-quote:
"""
As usual, I recommend caution with upgrading. Please don't upgrade
right before a major talk or presentation, unless you have time to test
everything thoroughly beforehand. There were many last-minute changes
made after the last beta, so some glitches are to be expected.
"""

I warn you because we completely revamped the PyMOL build process.
This will no doubt cause issues. We focused on the build process
early because a clean build process will allow us to focus on
development, not dealing with cross-platform issues and lagging build
time.

We've also pushed to ensure that AxPyMOL (http://pymol.org/axpymol) and
JyMOL (http://pymol.org/jymol) will also live on. Those will be
released in a few days, too.

Also, we'll be releasing a new PyMOL website with updated screencasts
and growing support. That seems to be a couple weeks away, though.

Finally, it has been a humbling experience to step into the shoes of
my mentor and get a glimpse of what he had been shouldering for the
past decade. He was a genius who worked and gave incessantly. While
it was easier for us when Warren was here, we still need to learn and
move forward.

PyMOL v1.3 is us, moving forward.

Cheers,

-- Jason
