If you install pymol via MacPorts (www.macports.org) under MacOS 10.6, you will 
get a 64-bit version, because MacPorts compiles everything in 64-bit mode for 
10.6.

However, I should add that the resulting PyMOL is not a pleasure to use. The 
OpenGL screen has a very unpleasant jitter that I can't stand looking at for a 
long time. Other than that, PyMOL seems to work fine though. Perhaps for your 
ray-tracing needs this is a good option.
