Hi,

I am new to linux and wondering if it is possible to install PyMol and other crystallography related software in an elegant way under linux. E.g. is it possible to create desktop icons and add the programs to the toolbar similar to windows. I also realized talking to other people using linux that many times it becomes a nightmare to track all the libraries necessary for a certain program. I would appreciate any general advise to a beginner. For particulars, I am using SUSE professional 9.2 and wondering whether the Yast
software installation tool can be taken advantage.

Thanks in advance,
