this is to turn on cylyndrical helices and make them thinner:
#### show alpha helices as cyclinders
set cartoon_cylindrical_helices, 1
set cartoon_helix_radius, 1.7
You can also do similar things with beta strands if you don't like the
default sizes:
#### for beta strands default 1.4 and 0.4
set cartoon_rect_length, 1.0
set cartoon_rect_width, 0.3
