I was going to use a virtualenv, but I couldn't get that to work even when 
it was working at all, so I just resorted to using the system python 
install since the whole application is inside a docker container. 

Chris, I tested using the Hello World Application by just replacing my 
pyramid.wsgi contents with the hello world application you linked and it 
does not work, thanks for your time guys!
I thought I remembered trying that a few weeks ago when I first noticed it 
but I guess not. If I figure it out ill post the fix here.
