Page 430, 40.6.3 Changing the views.py File

What are you using to view the PDF? I used both Preview on Mac
OS X 10.8.5, Google Chrome's native PDF viewer, and Adobe Reader.
I notice that my Page 430 does not align with your Page 432,
assuming that is the page from which you grabbed your code sample.

last line of the block.
For example, in section 40.6.3, "Changing the views.py file",

This line is missing:
