No objections, although it's too early to commit to specific GSOC project yet. I was going to say that somebody just announced a project to revamp PasteScript/PasteDeploy, but it looks like that somebody is you. So maybe some of that could come under GSOC. BTW, I'm going to post a wishlist of features for paster create and application templates.
First Chris has to register Pylons as a subproject of Python's GSOC, I'm not sure if that's been done yet.
