Mike, as a new comer to git (coming from mercurial) I found github help very easy and simple to use and understand http://help.github.com/
I definitely need help on different upcoming tasks of the new web site and your request is relevant. I'm currently collecting ideas and features for the new site and you're welcome to edit those pages. There is a contributor page where people can add themselves and we'll try to dispatch based on interests and skills. We also can post recipes or other relevant content there until we have the new site in place.
