Also, when I have done test, I had need to install irqbalance daemon, because I have some bottleneck around 60000iops, then with irqbalance I have jump to 120000 iops. I think a good start is to test with "fio", with krbd and librbd on host to compare base performance. Then test inside the vms guests.
