For reasons, I need to be able to continue supporting node definitions using short hostnames instead of the FQDN that is now required in Puppet 7 (Puppet Enterprise, specifically).
The following ticket implies that this can be accomplished in site.pp or the 'default' node declaration: https://tickets.puppetlabs.com/browse/PUP-10238 Does anybody know how to do this? I had hoped it would be as easy as adding "node { $::hostname : }" to the default node, but that does not seem to be the case.
