The latest release for the Puppet Enterprise release track, PE 2021.0 is
now available!


This is the first release in the Puppet Enterprise 2021 track.

New features and enhancements in this release include:

   -

   SAML 2.0 support, enabling single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor
   authentication (MFA) for more secure access to PE.
   -

   A new token page that lets you manage access tokens from the console.
   -

   A new patching plan that includes pre- and post-patching health checks,
   reducing manual steps for your patching process.
   -

   Performance improvements to PuppetDB. One customer saw a 750%
   improvement!
   -

   Puppet 7, the latest version of our component software.


Deprecations

Support for these agent platforms are deprecated in this release:

   -

   Enterprise Linux 5

   Enterprise Linux 7 ppc64le

   SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
   -

   SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 ppc64le
   -

   Ubuntu 16.04 ppc64le
   -

   Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1
   -

   Microsoft Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2

Reminder: Whitelist and blacklist were deprecated in a previous release in
favor of allowlist and blocklist. Classes, parameters, and file names that
use these terms continue to work, but we recommend updating your
classification, Hiera data, and pe.conf files as soon as possible in
preparation for their removal in a future release.
