purpose of puppet.  And yes, that absolutely could do it, as the facts are 
first deployed then run.  Make yourself a module and deploy it through 
there and it should stick around.

That also leads to a few interesting file naming conflicts when it comes to 
different modules, but that's a topic for another day.
