Hi,

I'm new to puppet, ruby, passenger etc and am trying to get the free
version of puppet installed (fyi, my servers have no internet connection).

The steps recommend using apache and passenger.

Installed ruby products but mod_passenger.so is missing:

rpm -qa | egrep ruby

ruby-augeas-0.4.1-3.el6.x86_64
rubygem-fastthread-1.0.7-1.el6.x86_64
ruby-libs-1.8.7.352-7.el6_2.x86_64
ruby-rdoc-1.8.7.352-7.el6_2.x86_64
ruby-shadow-2.2.0-2.el6.x86_64
ruby-devel-1.8.7.352-7.el6_2.x86_64
rubygem-rake-0.8.7-2.el6.rfx.noarch
ruby-1.8.7.352-7.el6_2.x86_64
rubygems-1.3.7-1.el6.noarch
rubygem-daemon_controller-1.0.0-1.1.el6.noarch
rubygem-passenger-3.0.9-2.el6.x86_64
rubygem-json-1.5.5-3.el6.x86_64
rubygem-rack-1.1.0-2.el6.noarch
ruby-irb-1.8.7.352-7.el6_2.x86_64
libselinux-ruby-2.0.94-5.3.el6.x86_64

find / -name "mod_passenger*" -ls

 60120 4 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1995 Nov 13 2011
/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/passenger-3.0.9/ext/apache2/mod_passenger.c

I have run :

passenger-install-apache2-module
--------------------------------------------
Checking for required software...
 * GNU C++ compiler... found at /usr/bin/g++
 * Curl development headers with SSL support... found

The Apache 2 module was successfully installed.
Please edit your Apache configuration file, and add these lines:
   LoadModule passenger_module /usr/lib64/httpd/modules/mod_passenger.so
   PassengerRoot /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/passenger-3.0.9
   PassengerRuby /usr/bin/ruby
After you restart Apache, you are ready to deploy any number of Ruby on
Rails
applications on Apache, without any further Ruby on Rails-specific
configuration!
Press ENTER to continue.

ls -al /usr/lib64/httpd/modules/mod_passenger.so
ls: cannot access /usr/lib64/httpd/modules/mod_passenger.so: No such file
or directory

I have searched the web but not found why rubygem-passenger does not
include mod_passenger.so and I have tried 3 versions.

Any help appreciated,

Alan.
